Aomori Prefecture is rich in nature, including the World Heritage site Shirakami-Sanchi, Towada-Hachimantai National Park, and Sanriku Fukko National Park, which was incorporated in 2013. There are many attractive places and activities such as kayaking at Tanesashi Coast and Lake Towada, trekking in Hakkoda, camping at Lake Ogawara, and snowshoeing at Minami Hakkoda.
