Aomori Prefecture is rich in nature, including the World Heritage site Shirakami-Sanchi, Towada-Hachimantai National Park, and Sanriku Fukko National Park, which was incorporated in 2013. The sea, mountains, rivers, and lakes are just a few steps away, and you can experience nature on a grand scale that you have never seen before.
Despite such a wonderful location, the number of people who enjoy outdoor activities is surprisingly small. It's only natural to impress people from outside the prefecture, but I want the locals living here to feel the goodness of their area. There are many attractive places and activities such as kayaking at Tanesashi Coast and Lake Towada, trekking in Hakkoda, camping at Lake Ogawara, and snowshoeing at Minami Hakkoda.
